We are a small, friendly, family club sailing on Durleigh Reservoir, near Bridgwater with a sailing area of about 60 acres. The water level generally remains high allowing us to sail through most of the worst summer droughts.
We have approximately 250 members. We cater for sailors who want to cruise around the picturesque reservoir as well as those who wish to race. There are a number of race series which includes Wednesday evenings, Bank Holidays and Sundays. For the hardy sailors, we run a competitive Icicle Series from New Year to Easter. Saturday afternoons offer a more relaxed atmosphere when there are no races. However, casual sailors are welcome any time there is club sailing. There is plenty of room for all members to enjoy themselves.
We are lucky enough to have a training centre operating from our club as well as a windsurfing club with tuition for children.
Non-sailors can enjoy relaxing on the grassy banks and are welcome at a number of social events including our excellent BBQ and Regatta.
The club house, with superb views of the water, has a club room, galley, changing rooms, showers, toilets and ample parking as well as a boat park and a slipway nearby for easy launching. On Sundays and Bank Holidays during the sailing season, tea, coffee, soft drinks and light refreshments are available from the Club Galley. All profits go towards Club funds.
