Durleigh Reservoir is an excellent spot to learn to windsurf and perfect your skills with flat water, reliable winds and safety cover.
Junior windsurfing has always been big at Durleigh with many kids excelling in regional, national and international competition. Over the last few years brothers Dave and Graeme Woods, sister and brother Becky and Jack Plummer, Stuart Bruce, Aleksander Sedgwick-Wilde and Richard Walker have all graduated from club sailing to successes elsewhere. Podium finishes at National Championships for all as well as second places at the World Championships for Dave and Jack. All this from their humble beginnings on our small piece of water!
Durleigh Sailing Club hosted training weekends for South West Windsurfing as well as some Team 15 events and regional races.
Durleigh Sailing Club run a windsurfing club open to all members of the club who wish to windsurf, with kit to hire and tuition.
Stuart Bruce (RYA Windsurfing Instructor and Race Coach) along with other experienced windsurfers are on hand to instruct or just give you some help.
